Adder Action, one of Natur am Byth!’s key projects, aims to address the decline in adder populations across Wales and support their recovery. They want to do this in three ways: engage volunteers and communities to generate adder records, conduct surveys, and generally raise awareness.
The project works closely and collaborates with other NaB! schemes, like Swansea Bay: Coast, Commons and Community, as well as other partners and volunteers, to ensure any habitat works are considerate of the needs of adder populations and where relevant, adder-positive features are integrated in their project planning approach. Apart from Natur am Byth, their main project partner is the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust.
Although its target audience spans across Wales, they are conducting habitat work in a few key areas, like Swansea Bay, which will benefit important Adder Action.
